Purpose:
GRALA values the active participation of all families, as it is crucial to the success of our programs and events. This policy ensures we can continue to provide high-quality initiatives and fosters a spirit of community collaboration.
Policy Overview:
Each family (age level 10U and above) is required to contribute a minimum of 2 hours of volunteer service per athlete. This helps to ensure the smooth operation of our programs and supports our staff, participants, and volunteers. The following outlines the terms and conditions of our volunteer policy.
Volunteer Commitment:
- Required Hours: Every family must complete 2 hours of volunteer service per athlete, no matter how many players are in the household.
- Season Definition: The season begins on the first day of spring practices and runs through the middle of June.
- Volunteer Opportunities: Throughout the season, a range of volunteer opportunities will be available on Crossbar. Families are encouraged to check regularly for new opportunities to get involved.
Volunteer Hours and Fee:
- Fee for Non-Completion of Hours: Families who do not complete the required 2 hours of volunteer service per athlete by the end of the season will have a $350.00 plus transaction fees charged to the card or banking institution on file per athlete.
Exemptions:
Board members, registered coaches, and team managers are exempt from the volunteer hours requirement. These roles are considered active contributions to the organization and do not require additional volunteer hours.
Acknowledgement:
By registering your player and providing the card on file, each family acknowledges and agrees to the terms of this Volunteer Policy and commits to fulfilling the volunteer requirement for the season, except as noted for exempt roles.
Thank you for supporting Grand Rapids Amateur Lacrosse Association and helping us build a vibrant and engaged community!
